New technologies like artificial intelligence (AI), Big Data, Internet of Things (IoT) and applied data science have shown their potential to effectively address climate change through innovations.
Moving towards a more circular economy could deliver benefits such as reducing pressure on the environment, improving the security of the supply of raw materials, increasing competitiveness, stimulating innovation, boosting economic growth (an additional 0.5% of gross domestic product), and creating jobs.
Combining two emerging megatrends—artificial intelligence and circular economy—can accelerate a shift towards a regenerative system fit for the future.
The aim of this challenge is to bring together talented students and post doctoral researchers from different disciplines and equip them to build data-driven circular economy solutions.
